Here's a message from the WRMS PTO to all current 6th grade parents for next year -
Good morning,
The Washburn Rural Middle School PTO is looking for new parents to join the board for the next two years. Several of us have students that are off to high school. The middle school PTO doesn’t involve a whole lot compared to elementary school. Some of the things we currently do are listed below, but it would be up to the new board to choose which activities they would like to add or participate in.
Positions – President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Seventh Grade Representatives
Responsibilities of the PTO:
Fall Fundraiser – An outside fundraiser coordinator helps guide us through the process and choose what will be the most beneficial each year.
Restaurant Fundraisers – Involves emailing a few local restaurants and setting up community nights throughout the year.
Plan meals and snacks for Parent-Teacher Conferences in the Fall and Spring
Plan the 8th Grade Senior Dance – We already have someone that will oversee this for the 2024-2025 school year.
Work with teachers and administration on other needs that may come up throughout the school year whether it be snack signups, volunteer signups or funding requests.
Participating in PTO provides a great opportunity to meet the WRMS teachers and staff, along with some new parents!

The Wanamaker secretaries have come up with a PAWSOME design this year celebrating MARGO! The limited edition shirt designed by the front office is now live on the spirit store! This design is only available to order from March 1st through April 26th on the spirit store website. It is available in several different colors in t-shirt and sweatshirt options. The choices for tomorrow (4/23) for lunch have changed. Choice #1 is corn dog, choice #2 will be cheese pizza.

Here's a fun event for your kiddos on a no school day presented by Washburn University Athletics.
W.E. are so excited for the Art Show and dance TONIGHT! Mrs. Decker and your students have worked really hard to create some beautiful art to be displayed. The dance committee has worked really hard to provide a fun, neon glow evening for you and your family. This is an evening you do not want to miss!
🎨Art Show 4pm-6pm Enter through main school doors. No ticket needed. Bring a donation for HHHS to take your student's artwork home.
🕺VIP Dance 5:30pm Enter through doors under awning. Pre-purchase wristband needed. They were sent home with your child yesterday or will be today.
💃Dance 6pm-8pm Enter through main school doors. $6 entry fee🎟️

-Each person over 2 years old must have a ticket.
-Students must be accompanied by an adult
